Nashville Used Music started in the fall of 1976, occupying an 800 square foot showroom. A fire in the fall of 1993 caused the shop to move to it’s location at 4876 Nolensville Rd, in the Fairlane Square shopping center. Despite the setback, the business grew to fill over 10,000 square ft; with a reputation as a premier music store. Because of tremendous growth the store was moved to a larger spaceat 4870 Nolensville Rd. in October of 2005. In July of 2006 Nashville Used Music took back it’s previous 10,000 square feet and now occupies a total of 30,000 square feet, making it one of the largest musical merchandise salesfloors in the south. The store now offers more merchandise, more rentals, and more repair services than ever before.

Partners Charles Shrader and James Mullins feature brand new, used, and vintage guitars, amps, keyboards, Dj lighting and sound, brass & woodwinds. They also carry equipment for recording, PA, midi units, and a full line of accessories. They are especially proud of their collection of vintage and classical instruments.

In spite of the name, Nashville Used Music also sells new equipment. The store is an area sales leader in new instruments and equipment. So while many customers stop by the showroom with “used” in mind, once they see what Nashville Used Music has to offer, and the competitive pricing, they often leave with “new” equipment.
